Diamondback Sorrento compare the Components!, February 6, 2012 This review is from: Diamondback 2012 Sorrento Mountain Bike (Satin Black) (Sports) This bike is awesome. I've had it for about a month and it should be worth more than the list price. Bikes are made up of components and this one has all the desirable ones! It has Shimano Lever Shifters, Re-enforced Rims, Semi Aggressive Tires for riding on Road or Trail, and a Shimano Altus Derailer! The Trail XC shocks on the front forks have saved me multiple times from flying over the handlebars so it is also very safe. I completely recommend it. Thanks!

The bike came pre-assembled. You just need to install the front tire, pedals, and the steering bar. Also you just need to hook the brake wires to the brake triggers. So it was very easy to install all the parts, and that was my first time putting a bike together. Here are the pros in cons:
PROS
* looks great
* well made parts
* very light
* runs smooth & fast out of the box
* gears shift smooth & fast out of the box
* assembly very easy
* the brakes work good just need to adjust them
CONS
* you can't adjust the front suspension shocks
* seat is a bit hard
* hand grips make your hand hurt after a long ride
* front tire got a flat after my sixth ride

I have been assembling bikes for many years, some much more complex than this one. The instructions that come with this bike are useless, and I am actually going to have to pay a bike dealer to finish the assembly.
The wording and illustrations in the manual pertain to some other bike, certainly not this one. They specify certain tools needed to assemble the bike, with both wrench sizes being incorrect.
The quick release for the front wheel was loose in the box and there is some temporary axle in place which I was unable to remove.
The handle bar height adjustment is impossible. I have loosened everything I could find and still no dice. Of course the instruction book illustrates some other handle bar configuration which is useless.
Somebody told me that this bike was not designed to be sold to customers but rather to bike shops where they have the knowledge and... Read more
